Cultured (also cultivated, literary)   

With a civilisation that spans 5000 years it is little wonder that the Chinese word for culture resembles the figure of a person. When 文 wen is paired with 明 ming, it means civilsed, when 文 wen is paired with wu 武, it means master of the arts.
