The character 壽 shou means longevity. Together with happiness and prosperity they make up the three traditional attributes of a good life, each one with its own representative god. The god of longevity is recognised by his high domed forehead and the peach which is a symbol of immortality. He is usually shown smiling and friendly, and often carries a gourd filled with the Elixir of Life.

The diameter of the button is approximately 11.5mm and is cast in solid sterling silver. It can be worn as a pendant on a necklace or a charm on a bracelet.

It is strung on to a black silk mix necklace with a slipknot and also supplied with a sterling silver jumpring which can be used to attach onto any bracelet.
